Cirque Alfonse: Timber!

Hailing from the small town of Saint-Alfonse- Rodriguez, Quebec, this innovative nouveau cirque troupe includes three generations of performers from the Carabinier family. Timber! incorporates epic feats of agility and strength inspired by the natural raw materials of the forest and by farm equipment. With axes flying, logs rolling, and fiddles blazing, Timber! is a raucous celebration of the first North American lumberjacks, loggers, and farmers.

Cameron Carpenter is smashing stereotypes of organ music – while generating international acclaim and raucous audience response. Playing the mighty console of his own custom-built touring organ, Carpenter performs an eclectic repertoire ranging from Bach to his original compositions and hundreds of transcriptions and arrangements.

This exhilarating musical journey focuses on the African guitar and vocal tradition. The Acoustic Africa tour includes Habib Koité, the Malian superstar whose exciting concerts have endeared him to audiences worldwide. He pairs up with South Africa’s Vusi Mahlasela, who is simply known as “The Voice” in his country. These leading lights of African music reflect the diverse musical traditions of their homelands.
