Printer-friendly version

Dear HSU Students, Faculty, and Staff,

On behalf of the Student Success Alliance committee, I am pleased to announce that Academic Affairs will launch twenty new faculty searches during the 2018-2019 Academic Year. Below you will find a list of the planned searches that span CAHSS, CNRS, CPS, and the Library. These searches will support HSU’s commitment to diverse faculty hiring, continued development of first-year learning communities, and environmental responsibility and social justice.

The twenty faculty searches were made possible by funding from:
1) $1.2 million from 2018-2019 Graduation Initiative 2025 monies

  • $825,000 minimum allocation for faculty hiring per California State Bill 840 that established this year’s GI2025 funding
  • $375,000 increase in the faculty hiring allocation recommended by the HSU Student Success Alliance (visit for more details)

2) $350,000 additional investment from the Academic Affairs base budget approved by me

It is anticipated that twenty new faculty members will join their respective departments for the start of classes in Fall 2019.  Here are the planned faculty searches:
