Tuesday, May 3, 2016 1:30 - 3pm Library Fishbowl

Call for proposals- the HSU Sustainable Learning initiative is offering awards to faculty that participate in professional development opportunities: 5/20, 5/31, or 6/1.

Faculty, Lecturers, and Instructors, are encouraged to drop in on May 3rd for refreshments and discussions of strategies and tools that reduce the cost of a college education at Humboldt State University.

Dr. Leslie Kennedy, Director of Affordable Learning Solutions http://www.affordablelearningsolutions.org/ in the Academic Technology Services department at the California State University, Office of the Chancellor, will share information about Affordable Learning Solutions and AB798.

Cyril Oberlander, University Library Dean, will review results of the HSU Sustainable Learning initiative, and discuss how you can participate in paid professional development opportunities on May 20th, 31st, or June 1st. Finding free or low-cost high-quality textbooks and educational resources is a major issue for students, this is timely given that the average cost of textbooks per year is about $1,200.

Please join us for a conversation about strategies to reduce the cost of a college education without sacrificing the quality of educational resources. Please Register now to reserve your spot, thank you!

Best wishes,

Cyril
