Campus Budget Open Forum

March 24, 2017

The University Resources & Planning Committee (URPC) will be hosting a Campus Budget Open Forum on Tuesday, April 4th from 10:00-12:00 in the Goodwin Forum. The University has an ongoing budget deficit and efforts are underway to reshape our financial structure and better position the University for sustainable long-term success. Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to attend to learn more about the current budget situation, deficit planning activities underway, the path forward, and how the campus community can participate in this consultative process. It will take the entire campus working together to address the University’s budget deficit and this forum provides the opportunity for the URPC to engage the campus in this process.

In addition, the URPC has developed new web content (www.humboldt.edu/budget/budgetplanning) to provide the campus with additional budget planning context. The web content includes current details regarding Phase 1 and Phase 2 reduction planning, status updates, and a mechanism for the campus community to submit questions and provide feedback. Everyone is encouraged to review the website ahead of the open forum.  In addition, the URPC encourages questions - general or specific - regarding the budget process, be emailed to budgetplanning@humboldt.edu so that they may be incorporated into the site's FAQ or addressed during the forum.
