Congratulations to Fisheries Biology Graduate Students Ian Kelmartin and Jay Staton

Congratulations to Ian Kelmartin and Jay Staton, two graduate students from the Department of Fisheries Biology. Ian and Jay will travel to Long Beach on March 8th to present their research at the CSU Council on Ocean Affairs, Science and Technology/Water Resources and Policy Initiative annual student research poster reception. The reception highlights water-related research conducted by students within the California State University system, to an audience that includes the CSU Chancellor, Board of Trustees, and Campus presidents. The students will be showcasing work on the North Coast Marine Protected Areas Baseline Monitoring Project, where they collaborated with members of the commercial and recreational fishing communities to characterize the abundance and diversity of fish associated with offshore rocky reefs along the Northern California coast.
