Crew Pair Collects Pocock All-America Honors

June 11, 2016

ARCATA, Calif. – The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced that Humboldt State seniors Mariah Smither and Samantha Morford were named to the Division II Pocock All-America First and Second Team, respectively.

Smither continues to add to her impressive trophy collection after helping the Jacks’ V8 boat advance to the National Championships. The Eureka, Calif., native earned her second consecutive Elite 90 award in May, an honor bestowed to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships.

Morford was also a member of the V8 boat and served as an essential piece of this year’s postseason success. She, like Smither, was also a member of the 2014 championship team.
