If you do, you may be a candidate to participate in the first campus Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) pilot project. The purpose of the pilot is to identify what ITS needs to do to provide and support a secure, yet flexible, environment that protects confidential information without getting in the way of work efficiencies.

Whether you’re in the office, on the road, or just out and about, this is for you if you (want to) use your personally owned device to:

• Access documents through shared campus folders (U: drive, S: drive, etc – not the local C: drive on your office computer)
• Print to a departmental printer
• Work with common business applications like Office Nolij, or certain myHumboldt-based apps
• Use web browsers optimized for applications like OBI, SkillPort, or Nolij
• Run Windows/PC applications on an Apple device

The pilot is currently scheduled to start in mid-February and run for a two-week period, which should give us enough data to project the cost and resources needed to roll out a comprehensive BYOD environment to campus.

• Your HSU User Name (NOT your password!)
• The file servers or shared folders you wish to access (as relevant)
• The applications you wish to use (as relevant)
• The location/name of the printer(s) you wish to access (as relevant)
• The type of device(s) you want to use
