Founders Day Friday: Time Capsule, IdeaFest & Dance of the Century!

On Friday, April 25th, Founders Day will cap off the Centennial celebration with a full day of activities to ring in the new century. This final year-end event will wrap up with the big "Dance of the Century" in Lumberjack Arena for all staff, faculty, students and alums (spouses are invited too).

Here is an overview of the exciting events to look forward to:

Centennial Time Capsule Burial

11am in front of the HSU Library

Witness history as we bury the Centennial Time Capsule filled with items suggested by students, staff and faculty that represent the HSU campus.

Centennial Cupcakes, Music and Los Bagels Samples/Prizes

11am–2pm, UC Quad

Enjoy Centennial cupcakes, Los Bagels samples, fun giveaways and live music (12–1pm).

Ideafest (Student Project Showcase)

3–5:30pm, Nelson Hall 

Join the campus community to celebrate research and projects by HSU students and faculty.

HSU Centennial Composers Concert

8pm, Fulkerson Recital Hall

Price: $10 General; $5 Senior/Child and HSU Students with ID

Enjoy original works composed by HSU Music Professor Brian Post and his students in honor of HSU's Centennial.

GRAND FINALE: Dance of the Century

8pm–midnight, Kinesiology & Athletics Building

Price: FREE entry and hors d'oeuvres. No host bar.

Dress in your favorite decade and dance the night away in style. With music, games, food and raffle prizes being given away every 30 minutes, you don't want to miss this one of a kind celebration! And its FREE. 

**All Founders Day, in memory of those lost in the April 10 bus accident, the HSU Advancement Foundation will match donations made to the two memorial scholarships that have been established. And at the dance, the Foundation will give $5 to the memorial scholarships for each of the first 1,000 people who attend to show their support. The Foundation has pledged up to $20,000 for these efforts.
