In celebration of the holiday season, Governor Brown has authorized a half-day informal time off on Friday, December 22. In addition, I am approving a half-day administrative leave that day, and many campus offices will not be operational for the entire day.

The campus will need a limited number of essential personnel to work that day. Your appropriate administrator will notify you if you fall into that category. Those assigned to work on December 22 will be able to make arrangements for an informal day off before June 30, 2018.

I hope this additional time will help support the safety of your travel and planning for the holidays, and that the break will provide time for you to relax and connect with family and friends. I look forward to working with you in the new year!
