Future Lumberjacks on Campus

October 19, 2017

Dear Campus Community,

Please join the Early Outreach Department in welcoming 300 local 8th grade students and their chaperones to HSU campus on Friday, Oct. 20, for the kick off the 7th Annual “I’ve Been Admitted to College” (IBAC) program – a series of four events that will eventually host 1,400 students on campus this fall. The remaining 1,100 students will visit on November 3, December 1, and December 8.

IBAC is a collaborative effort of HSU Early Outreach (formerly SASOP) and Humboldt County Office of Education to provide all Humboldt and Del Norte County 8th grade students the opportunity to “see themselves” as future HSU students.

The 8th graders experience campus tours, lunch in the J, panel discussions with current HSU students, and workshops led by faculty. The program culminates with every student receiving a compact for college - President Rossbacher’s “promise of admission” to students that do their part to meet HSU admission requirements.

Thank you for helping us provide our young visitors with a rewarding experience on HSU campus.

Andrea Enyedi
Director of Early Outreach Programs
