HSUWireless Network is Going Away July 31, 2018

July 9, 2018

As ITS announced earlier this year, the old, insecure HSUWireless network is being replaced by eduroam as the official campus wireless network for personal devices. After July 31, 2018, the HSUWireless network will no longer be available.

eduroam is a secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international education and research community that allows students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to access the internet across campus and when visiting other participating institutions simply by opening their laptop or other mobile device.

Here's what you get with eduroam:

  • It’s valid for five years – you’ll get a renewal reminder via email
  • Authentication does not require a password
  • You get instant automatic wifi at any eduroam institution worldwide
  • The eduroam software automatically recognizes your device – no tech skills required
  • All communications are secure and encrypted

Register your personal device ahead of the new academic year now and roam securely with eduroam!

Note that this only applies to personal devices; your HSU-managed devices already connect securely on campus.
