Humboldt Loyalty Grants Now Available – 2nd Annual Donor Voice Program Helps Select Grantees

January 30, 2015

Thanks to the generosity of thousands of Humboldt Loyalty Fund and Humboldt Parent & Family Fund donors, Humboldt Loyalty Grants are available again this year to support important programs across campus.  The University estimates there will be about funding available for about 10-12 projects in the 2015/2016 academic year, with up to $20,000 available per project.

Projects funded last year include:

  • Specialized Printing Equipment for the Dept. of Geography
  • An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for the College of Natural Resources & Sciences
  • Echo Sounder Equipment for the R/V Coral Sea
  • Micro-plate Reader for the Biological Sciences Core Facility
  • Equipment Upgrades for the Institute for Health & Human Performance in the College of Professional Studies
  • Specialized Chairs for the Student Disability Resource Center
  • Resource Materials for Immigration and Diversity housed in the University Library

This will be our second year utilizing Donor Voice, an initiative allowing donors who give to the Humboldt Loyalty Fund or the Humboldt Parent & Family Fund the chance to rank submitted projects.  Last year 2,000 donors gave to one of these two funds and more than 200 of these donors participated in ranking the projects they felt were most important on campus.

The donor rankings from Donor Voice are compiled and submitted to the Deans and Vice Presidents.  Deans and Vice Presidents consider the input from donors along with their own recommendations.  They then submit a final ranking of projects to President Rossbacher who makes funding allocations by the end of April.

Details for submission:

Proposals are due to the relevant Dean or Vice President no later than March 6th.

Full submission guidelines are attached (PDF).
