Loss of student Robert Romeri

March 16, 2016

Dear University Community:

We are saddened to share news of the recent loss of Humboldt State junior Robert Romeri, and we extend our condolences to his family and friends.

Robert, 21, died in a car crash near Crescent City on March 13. From Ranchos Palos Verdes, California, Robert came to HSU in 2012. He was studying Anthropology and was particularly interested in cultural anthropology, language, and media. He’s remembered by faculty as a sweet, kind person with a great sense of humor.

HSU students Alexis Galvan and Pearla Saole were traveling with Robert and were hurt in the accident as well. Galvan, who is studying Environmental Management and Protection, and Saole, a Psychology major, are being treated for their injuries at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.

Robert’s passing is a loss for the Humboldt State community and we are thinking of him and those who are close to him. Alexis and Pearla are in our thoughts, too, and we wish them a speedy recovery.
