No Warning or Damage Following Pair of Quakes

Conditions are all clear and no tsunami threat exists on the West Coast of the United States following two major earthquakes.

This morning a 6.5 earthquake occurred within 150 miles of Arcata, Calif. at approximately 6:49 a.m. There was no damage or injuries reported. A few hours later at approximately 9:38 a.m. a 7.8 earthquake struck near the Solomon Islands. A brief warning was issued for Hawai'i but was later lifted.
