TO: Benefit-Eligible Employees

HSU is over halfway through the fall Open Enrollment period for changes effective January 1, 2015. We are reminding those benefit-eligible employees who are currently enrolled in Blue Shield Net Value to make a change to another health plan for 2015. All changes must be received in the Human Resources office, Siemens Hall 211, by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014. Please consider submitting your change as soon as possible.

You are not required to make a change for any plan other than Blue Shield Net Value and it is not necessary to re-enroll for dental or vision benefits if you are only submitting a health plan change.

As you are aware, Net Value will not be offered in Humboldt County in 2015. The Human Resources office has provided several Benefits Information Sessions to the campus in the past three weeks in which we have provided details for all of health plans, plan comparisons, premium rate information and additional information.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We have been notified that previous information released by CalPERS for the out of pocket maximums for the PPOs is inaccurate. Please refer to the presentation or the Plan Comparison on our website for the correct maximum out of pocket costs.

We also have extensive information on our website regarding all open enrollment transactions including the Health Care/Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts and voluntary benefits available for enrollment.
