Open Forums for the Coordinator of the African American Center for Academic Excellence

May 25, 2017

Update: Please share the news with faculty and staff in your area(s) that the Friday, June 2 Open Forum is canceled due to the candidate withdrawing their consideration for the AACAE position.

Campus Community,

It would be a pleasure to have you join the open forums for the candidates of the coordinator for the African American Center for Academic Excellence. The candidates and forum times/locations are:

Tuesday, May 30th - Tristen Johnson - Nelson Hall East 113 - 10:30am
Thursday, June 1st - Kenya Nunley - Nelson Hall East 113 - 10:30am

The room does not have access to a computer, so candidates will not be bringing a powerpoint.

For the forum, the committee has asked each candidate to introduce themselves including a brief description of their career background and be prepared to give a 15 minute discussion on the following question:

“What are the 3 toughest barriers for African American students on a predominately white institution and how do you feel an African American Center for Academic Excellence can help break down those barriers?”

An abbreviated resume/CV and evaluation form will be provided to you upon arrival to the forum. Your thoughts are an important part of the search process and we look forward to having you join us next week.

Best,
Stephanie Lane
Search Committee Chair
