The Department of Politics invites you to the 14th annual Victor T. Schaub Memorial Lecture on Local Politics. This year’s theme is “The Transition to Legal Cannabis.” The panel discussion will take place March 26 at 5:30 p.m. in Founders Hall 118.

Panelists will be Hezekiah Allen, Executive Director of the California Growers Association; John Ford, Humboldt County Director of Planning; Mariellen Jurkovich, Director of Humboldt Patient Resource Center; and Linda Stansberry, journalist with the North Coast Journal.

The lecture series' namesake, Victor Schaub, was an Arcata civil attorney and professional mediator who was elected to the City Council in 1988 and served two terms, until 1996. He served as mayor from 1990-95. Victor died in 2004 at the age of 60, and the Victor Schaub Memorial Lecture series was established in his honor.
