Performance Issues and Multiple Copies of Application Shortcuts

April 3, 2015

The problem of multiple copies of application shortcuts appearing in the Windows Start Menu on some campus PCs has been traced to an issue with Citrix Receiver software.

For this reason, after successful internal testing, ITS will on Monday April 6th be uninstalling Citrix Receiver from all computers that don’t need it. Computers connecting to CalState Forms and Raiser’s Edge, which require the use of Citrix Receiver software, will be excluded from this uninstall process.

If anyone finds that they need to reinstall Citrix Receiver, this can easily be done from myapps.humboldt.edu. More information on using MyApps can be found on the Software Update Services for Windows service page on the ITS website.
