Power Down Event April 13

April 10, 2017

The final Power Down event of the year is on Thursday, April 13th.

Green Campus Power Down event has had a positive impact on energy use and GHG emissions of the HSU campus. Since the beginning of Fall 2016 semester and to date, Power Down has saved 12,437.45 (kWh) in electricity, 30,000 (MBtu) in total energy, 3,083,954.03 (g/kWH) in greenhouse gas emissions, 6,798.95 (Ib/kWH) in greenhouse gas emissions, and a total of $1,368 costs.

Green Campus will be hosting the last Power Down event of the year on April 13th from 1pm to 5pm.  We are asking the campus community to participate by either taking the pledge, ride your bike to school, come prepared with all of your electronics charged, and bring a sweater. Faculty members are encouraged to turn off the lights, take their class outside and reduce the use of the overhead projector. These are just a few tips and ideas but feel free to be innovative.

If you wish to show you or your class participating, please feel free to post your photos or videos by tagging @greencampus_hsu on Instagram and @greencampusHSU on Facebook.

If you have any questions please send us an email at greencampus@humboldt.edu.
