Radha Webley Appointed Associate Vice President for RISS

February 4, 2016

I am very pleased to announce that Radha Webley has been appointed Associate Vice President for Retention and Inclusive Student Success, effective February 1, 2016.

Retention and Inclusive Student Success (RISS) includes multiple student services programs focused on supporting the academic success of all HSU students. These include the Academic and Career Advising Center; Center for Service Learning and Academic Internships; Cultural Centers for Academic Excellence (includes ITEPP, Multicultural Center, African American Center, and Latin@ Center); Educational Opportunity Program; Indian Natural Resources, Science and Engineering Program (INRSEP); Learning Center; and Retention through Academic Mentoring Program (RAMP). Our RISS program was an important component that assured HSU's inclusion in AASCU's competitive national learning community "Re-Imagining the First Year of College" program announced this week.

Radha has been a member of the HSU community since 2008. In 2011, she was appointed Director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) where she previously served as the Associate Director. As ODI Director, Radha led campus-wide planning focused on the institutionalization of cross-campus goals in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion, and multiple campus-wide initiatives focused on inclusive student success and on creating equitable educational outcomes for all HSU students. In addition to her ODI Director responsibilities, Radha has served as Interim AVP for Retention and Inclusive Student Success since May 2014.

Because I am committed to the continued success of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion on our campus, I am in the process of developing a plan for the leadership transition in ODI. I will keep you apprised of the progress being made in this endeavor.

Please join me in congratulating Radha--I am confident that she will continue to make significant contributions that positively impact the success of all HSU students.

Dr. Alex Enyedi
Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs
