Strategic Planning Workshop on Friday, Feb. 13

February 2, 2015

To the University community:

The strategic planning process is a vital effort to guide our University over the next five years.  Please note February 13 on your calendar and plan on joining the conversation.  This effort is important, as is this day.  We are shaping our collective future.  And the plan will provide the basis for the implementation that will follow, including the budget.

February 13 will be a key element of engaging the University community in forming our strategic plan.  The day-long workshop will be divided into three segments so that you will know when specific discussions will be happening and how you want to choose to participate.  Please join us for these interactive, World Café-style workshops where you can participate in small group conversations around tables of five.  The day will include a series of focused, topical sessions, designed for people to participate in specific activities – or to come and stay for the entire day.

This event is scheduled on Friday, February 13, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in The Great Hall.

Sign up here for all the sessions you can attend; your input is valuable! Walk-ins are also welcome, but advance planning will help with ordering refreshments.

8:00 am - 10:30 am     Ensuring Resources to Fulfill the University's Mission
11:00 am - 2:00 pm     Supporting an Inclusive & Diverse Community
2:30 pm - 5:00 pm       Increasing Student Success & Academic Excellence

We would love you to be there the whole day!  If you cannot come for the day, come for the 2 ½ hours for one of the sessions of your choice.  If you cannot come for 2 ½ hours, come for 30-40 minutes of conversation, or even for 10-15 minutes and post your input on the walls!

More information about the strategic plan is available at the strategic planning website at www.humboldt.edu/strategicplan.  Specific areas for which you can provide input will be updated on the website prior to the workshops.

Thanks to all of you who have invested your time, energy, and ideas in this process thus far.  The overall effort will be even stronger as we expand the participation and engagement.

Sincerely,

Lisa A. Rossbacher, Ph.D., President

Noah Zerbe, Ph.D., Chair, University Senate and Chair, Department of Politics

Co-Chairs, HSU Strategic Planning Steering Committee
