Tax season is here and so are the scammers.  The Chancellor's office is already seeing fraudulent messages going out claiming to be from the Chancellor to CSU employees asking them to provide their W2s, which seems to be part of a wider outbreak. 

Always remember:

• No employer, including the CSU, should ever ask you to provide tax information or W2s via email
• The IRS does not request tax information or W2 information via email

Please be especially wary of requests for financial or identity information at this time of year – fraudsters rely on people not paying attention, so stay alert and don’t be a victim.
