Wanted: Your Input Into Moodle 2.8

April 15, 2015

The new version of Moodle, version 2.8, will be going live this summer. This new version addresses many of the concerns expressed by faculty concerning the Gradebook, system speed and Forum over the past few months, particularly in the context of the Canvas investigation.

Want to take a look?

A test instance has been set up so you can explore and create test courses at your convenience (on campus only – the test server cannot be accessed from off-campus locations). If you would like a shell to be set up for you, please let the Moodle office know at x3633.

Teaching this summer?

If you’re teaching this summer, you’re encouraged to take one of the Moodle Workshops on Demand, starting April 20, to ensure you’re ready to go. Just call the Moodle Office at x3633 to set a time that works for you; Moodle staff will be on hand to assist you during the session.

All faculty is invited to review and comment on the new functionality from now through August. A second set of modifications will be made before the start of the Fall 15 semester to ensure all possible user feedback has been covered.
