WELCOME OUR NEW STUDENTS TO HSU!

August 9, 2016

With classes around the corner, we’re preparing to kick off the new school year with events to ensure a positive HSU experience for our new students. This includes Welcome Home to Humboldt, which begins with Housing Move-In, Humboldt Orientation Program (HOP), and continues with events and activities through the first few weeks of school.

Over 1,400 freshmen are expected to attend HOP. Their family members and guests will also be on campus and participating in the Family & Guest Orientation program. In fact, this is the first time many students and families have visited our campus.

Due to the number of people expected on campus next week, parking will be impacted on campus. The G1 and R2 lots by the Jolly Giant Commons will be limited to incoming students and their families on Monday and Tuesday, August 15 and 16. All other lots will be available as usual and if possible, use public transportation and/or carpool.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Saturday, August 13:  Move-in for EOP, Klamath Connection, Athletes, and International Students
Monday, August 15, 8am – 12:30am:  Housing is allowing residents to check in early, on Monday, August 15 with a $25 early arrival fee. The G1 and R2 parking lots (by JCG) and Mill Street will be closed to staff in order to facilitate incoming move-in traffic
