Zero Waste Conference

Please join us for the 2nd annual HSU Zero Waste Conference, this Friday and Saturday, February 9th and 10th! The conference is FREE for all students, faculty, staff and general public. No registration necessary.

Friday, February 9th kicks off at 11am with hands-on, interactive bicycling and zero waste activities all day on the UC Quad. At 5:30pm attend the FREE and wildly popular Zero Waste Banquet in the Kate Buchanan Room (No RSVP Necessary). Keynote speakers are Arcata Mayor Sofia Pereira and US EPA Food Recovery Specialist André Villaseñor. After the banquet, stay for an exclusive screening of the critically acclaimed film, “Wasted: The Story of Food Waste”.

Saturday, starting at 10am, the day will be filled with panels, speakers, workshops and vibrant discussions in the KBR focusing on zero waste, environmental justice and systems change. Closing keynote speaker is Operation Yurok member and Ph.D. candidate Kaitlin Reed (at 6pm).
