The head of the unit will develop a draft proposal including charge to the committee, number of members and the constituencies they would represent, the length of member terms, appointing authority, and identification of the committee chair.
The proposal will be forwarded to the appropriate college dean or director for review and recommendation for approval. If recommended, the statement will be forwarded to the Vice President for Academic Affairs with a request for review and recommendation for approval by the Joint Council. Once the statement is recommended for approval by the Joint Council and approved by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, notice of the committee formation will be issued in the form of an Administrative Memorandum.
It is the responsibility of the head of the unit being advised to forward the list of committee members to the Office of the Academic Senate by September 1 of each year for inclusion in the annually issued booklet Committees, Councils, Associations & Boards.
