RESOLVED: That the University Resources and Planning Committee (URPC) recommends to the University Senate the attached changes to Section 2.4 of the Bylaws and Rules of Procedure of the University Senate.

The President’s Office should be informed as soon as possible when a current employee or student dies. If the deceased is an active employee, the President’s Office shall contact the appropriate divisional Vice President. Following this initial notification, the following contacts should be made.
Given the representative, fiduciary, legal, and other long-range policy making responsibilities of student office holders, it is the policy of Humboldt State University (HSU) that student office holders have an obligation to demonstrate academic involvement, achievement, and progress. Authority is provided in the Chancellor’s Office Academic Affairs Coded Memorandum AA-2012-05, Minimum Qualifications for Student Office Holders.
