Jonathan Ashbach (2012) is pursuing a Ph.D. in political theory at Hillsdale College in Michigan.

Adrian Batres (2012) has had a history of work as an Environmental Service Aid for a number of health organizations. He is currently an EVS Aid for Kaiser Permanente.

Zack Beasley (2011) is a Research Coordinator/Organizer for the Orange County Labor Federation.

Andrew Bevington (2010) works in San Francisco for PG&E as an Energy Efficiency Policy Analyst.

Evan Blair (2013) is the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment at University of the Pacific, Sacramento Campus. Previously he was an Enrollment Counselor and Marketing Coordinator for Union Institute and University in Sacramento. Evan is completing his Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership with Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and is due to graduate October 2016.

Erica Blake (2012) received a master’s degree at the University of Colorado at Denver. She is now a Research Associate for Development Research Partners in the Greater Denver area.

Kaitlan Bowen (2014) was a coordinator on the campaign to elect Arnie Klein as Humboldt County’s District Attorney.

Seth Bradley (2011) works at HSU for the Dean of Students as an Administrative Support Coordinator.

Ryan Brisbin (2012) coordinates the staff and volunteers at Montoliva Vineyard and Winery in Chicago Park, CA.

Jessica Buxbaum (2014) has been a writer/editor for several news agencies for a number of years and currently works at Carbonated.TV.

Jaycob Bytel (2013) is government affairs specialist/political consultant who most recently served as assistant campaign manager for the Darryl Steinberg for mayor campaign in Sacramento.

Ysamar Celedon (2015) is serving as a Civic Engagement Associate for Green Dot Public Schools, where she helps to identify and develop parent leaders in the East Los Angeles and Boyle Heights communities. Her department’s goal is to create an organization that can advocate for students and families. She also staffs non-partisan campaign events and tracks, enters, and maintains data on voters and event efficacy.

Brandon Chapin (2010) is a Program Analyst with the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Conservancy where he administers grants and contracts for the Conservancy, manages the Conservancy’s Delta marketing grant, pursues economic development opportunities for the Conservancy in the Delta, and serves as the Board Liaison between Conservancy staff and its Board. He earned his Master’s Degree in Public Policy & Administration from Sacramento State in 2013.

Cheyenne Cockrell (2013) is a Master Control Operator at DIRECTV. Previously she has had multiple positions at DIRECTV and has coached girl’s lacrosse at Santa Monica High School and Alexander Hamilton High School.

Ravin Craig (2011) is a Peer Health Education Coordinator at Humboldt State University. Her previous work included assistance in HSU’s Health Center and she supervised summer conferences between 2008 and 2012.

Rosemary Deck (2014) is a JD Candidate at University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She was previously a Legal Intern at the Humboldt County Public Defender’s Office.

Stephanie Dowdle (2010) is a Site Acquisition Specialist working with Complete Wireless Consulting, Inc. Previously she was a Law Clerk for the Law Offices of Bowman and Associates, located in Sacramento.

Shyamolika Dube (2012) is a Therapist/Case Manager for the South Asian Network (SAN) in Simi Valley, CA.

Rita Dunn (2013) is working as a Paralegal for a personal injury law firm (Dreyer Babich Buccola Wood and Campora) in Sacramento.

Juan Fernandez (2013) graduated with honors and a double major in journalism. In 2014, he ran for the Arcata City Council and has written articles for the North Coast Journal, the last of which focused on the HSU student occupation of the Native American Forum. He serves on the City of Eureka Energy Committee.

John Folstrom (2011) is a Program Analyst for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. He has had training in geographical systems, which has landed him the informal role as the GIS expert in the division he works with. After graduating from HSU, John volunteered in the Peace Corps.

Gabriela Garcia Cruz (2013) is a Policy and Enforcement Associate at YouTube. She earned a master’s degree in international studies at the University of San Francisco.

Julia Grosby (2010) received her multiple subject teaching credential and is currently teaching 6th grade at Monument Middle school in Rio Dell.

Osbaldo Gutierrez (2014) is a Brand Ambassador for ZipFizz. Previously, he had co-founded and worked as the Business Management Communications Director for Art Ant Temple, a small arts and crafts online startup.

Esther Harriot (2010) is a Guest Services Representative with Marriot Suites in Seattle, WA.

Kelsay Higdon (2014) is an Elections Specialist for the County of Humboldt.

Jesse Hoskins (2014) is a Membership Salesperson at the Sacramento Zoo. He will pursue a master’s degree in Public Policy Administration at Sacramento State starting fall 2016.

Aaron M. Jeweler (2011) graduated with a J.D. from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento in 2015. He has had experience as a congressional and legislative intern for numerous political officials and now works as a Law Clerk for PG&E.

Todd Jones (2010) is an Account Manager with BloodSource, a non-profit blood collection and donations agency. He previously served as a Field Representative for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Tony Lapiz (2015) is pursuing a Master’s of Public Health from Oregon State University. He is a Development Associate at Community Outreach, Inc., a non-profit organization, is the Communications Director and Field Campaign Director for Oregon House Representative Dan Rayfield, and serves in the California Army National Guard.

Morgan Leonard (2014) is a staff member in Rep. Grace Napolitano’s (CA-32nd) Washington DC office.

Huimin (Andrea) Li (2011) is working in paralegal services in New York.

Ryan Mallory-Jones (2011) is an attorney for the State Water Resources Control Board’s Office of Chief Counsel, where he works on, among other things, issues of storm water pollution control and permitting. He earned a law degree at University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento. [Note: Ryan was previously Ryan Hawley-Jones.]

Matthew Maltbie (2012) is a Senior Associate with TBWB Strategies; a strategy and communications firm which specializes in helping public agencies pass public finance ballot measures supporting a variety of programs, services and facilities.

Trever McSwain (2012) is in his third year at Valparaiso Law School in Indiana, where he is the Chariperson for the trial advocacy team at Valparaiso University School of Law.

Roberto Mejia (2012) is a Program Manager and Behavior Therapist at Behavior Learning Center, Inc., in the Greater Los Angeles area. Previously, he was a Clinical Supervisor for the Autism Response Team, an Adaptive Skills Educator, as well as a Lifeguard for the City of Palmdale.

Camille Morgan (2013) is Operations Manager of Conservation Strategy Group in Sacramento, CA. CSG is a strategic consulting firm specializing in California’s natural resources, water, energy and transportation systems. The firm provides a full range of political consulting services for NGOs, local agencies, and clean tech organizations to advance environmental goals in California. Going beyond traditional lobbying, the firm focuses on long-term political and funding strategies for clients from inception to implementation.

Jessica Munger (2013) is a Program Coordinator for the Move To Amend Coalition, a grassroots campaign that aims to amend the Constitution in order to regulate campaign spending in regards to businesses, unions and non-profits.

Nicole Naddy (2013) works for the California State Teachers’ Retirement System as an Appeals and Legislative Manager-Specialist for the Disability and Survivor Benefits Division. She is responsible for a caseload of member/beneficiary appeals, assists with a multitude of legal issues, and serves as Legislative Lead on her team. In her role as Legislative Lead, she is responsible for facilitating the development of legislative proposals and implementation of legislation for her Division. Prior to working at CalSTRS, Nicole worked as a Legislative Intern and as a Committee Secretary for the California State Legislature.

Brandon Norris (2014) is Team Lead at Radiant Living, and organization that provides 24-hour care for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Brenna O’Sullivan (2015) works for the County of Humboldt as an Economic Development Specialist and is pursuing an MBA with an emphasis in marketing management through the University of Saint Mary.

Alexander Paiva (2013) is self-employed as a Speculative Market Analyst. Previously he was a food sourcing activist with LabelGMOs.org.

Robin Praszker (2014) is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from CSU Dominguez Hills and working as an Administrative Assistant in the City of Eureka Parks and Recreation Department. Previously she was on the board for the Measure P campaign.

Grecia Rojas (2012) in an AFACTR Member with AmeriCorps. Previously she was a Case Worker for the McKinleyville Family Resource Center.

Sarah Shoenberger (2011) is working at Casa do Caminho, an orphanage in Xerém, Brazil.

Shawn Simon (2014) is a Recreation Specialist for the City of Arcata. He assists members of the community in connecting and becoming involved in local programs.

Eloy Sosa (2012) is a Data Analyst at VSolvit, based in Ventura, CA. Before his current position, he was a Research Assistant for the Humboldt Economic Index.

Claire Thiele (2011) is a Lab Animal Attendant at the University of Minnesota, where she cares for the condition of lab rats and mice.

Hayden Thomas (2012) is completing his J.D. at UCLA School of Law.

Christian Vierra (2016) is a legislative assistant for Assembly member Evan Low in Sacramento.

Nathaniel Toering (2015) is currently working as a seasonal Federal Park Ranger with the National Park Service in Alaska, as well as a first responder for fire, EMS, and search and rescue calls. He hopes to be taking a full-time ranger position soon.

Jacob Walsmith (2013) is a Product Manager at WageWorks. He was previously a Senior Account Manager at CVS Health and a Consultant for Aetna.

Emma Wright (2013) is a PACE Administrative Assistant/Medical Records Coordinator at the Humboldt Senior Resource Center.

Trent Yuhas (2014) is a bartender at Seascape Beach and Resort near Santa Cruz. Previously he was an Academic and College Access Tutor for the Humboldt County Office of Education.
