HSU Community Counseling Clinic

HSU Community Counseling Clinic

Our staff and students welcome the opportunity to assist you during times of emotional challenge.

Our clinic is a university-based training facility for graduate students in the Counseling Psychology and the School Psychology Master's Degree Programs at Humboldt State University. Faculty in the Department of Psychology supervise all students. Graduate students in the Counseling Master's Program provide direct services to clients. Our clinic operates in accordance with the ethical standards of the Amercian Psychological Association (APA) and California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).

Our clinic is a low-cost source for counseling services for HSU and for the broader Humboldt County Community. We see individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and children. Group counseling for adults is sometimes available. In the event that the clinic cannot meet a client's needs, we will make appropriate referrals.

The clinic includes four therapy rooms, a waiting room, recording and playback room, and office space. Because the clinic is a university training center, most rooms have mounted video cameras for recording sessions so that faculty can review and provide feedback to trainees.
