New Voices for a Stronger Future
Do you have a strong interest in science, computers and/or math as well as a desire to make a lasting difference in your community? Then the Scientific Leadership Scholars Program at Humboldt State may have a place for you!
The problem solving skills I learned while pursuing my math degree are invaluable in my day to day life and work. The Math Department, along with other HSU faculty and staff, was so encouraging and supported me every step of the way. Math Club events were a blast! Students in good academic standing in Computer Science, Environmental Resources Engineering, or Mathematics will receive annual scholarships of $3623 as a part of their total financial aid package. This scholarship will reduce the need for student loans or to work while a student. Native American students and students that are first generation to attend the university will be priority applicants. However, any student that meets the academic standards and financial need requirement will be considered.
Am I Eligible?
All applications for the Scientific Leadership Scholars Program that meet the following requirements will receive consideration (applications from Native American students and students whose parents never attended college will have first priority):
- Financial need as established by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- 2.75 College GPA
- Completed Calculus II
