Native Wellness Council

The Department formed a “Native Wellness Council” in 2008-09 to advise the programs on strategies for supporting indigenous students and preparing Native and Non-Native students for work with Indigenous Peoples. One outcome of the Native Wellness Council focus groups was a conference in January, 2010, that brought together public social service agencies, tribal social service agencies, Social Work faculty, and Social Work students, to talk about barriers to and solutions for strengthening collaboration.

The Native Wellness Council typically convenes once a semester.
