If you are feeling confused, upset or violated about a recent or past sexual experience, you are welcome to talk with an advocate from the North Coast Rape Crisis Team, available at (707) 445-2881. The NCRCT is available 24 hours a day and offers free and confidential support to survivors of sexual violence. HSU's Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) also has a 24 hour hotline at (707) 826-3236.
Sexual violence is a term used to describe many situations including but not limited to rape. Because sexual violence works in conjunction with racism, classism, sexism and homophobia, men, women and trans-identified survivors experience this violence in different ways. Sexual assault is broadly defined as any sexual contact that occurred without knowing and free-will consent.
As a survivor of sexual assault, there are options available to you. This website offers information and provides resources so that you can decide what will be most helpful for your individual process of healing and recovery.
