Classes will be held on Saturdays, at Humboldt State University Art Building, room 23.
Students will create original artwork inspired by diverse master artists. Students will learn about the life, work, and cultural significance of an artist as well as create art pieces that explore an element of art (line, shape, color, etc.) featured in the master work. Students will work in a real art studio and gain experience manipulating a variety of medium, including paint, pastel, and clay.
Students will create original artwork exploring composition – the organization of elements in their artwork. Students will view masterworks and discuss how composition contributes to the mood and meaning of art. Students will develop their artistic vocabulary and gain experience in drawing, painting and collage.
