“Theory to Action: At the Heart of Social Justice”
March 4 & 5, 2016
Humboldt State University
Summit organizers are looking for dynamic and interactive workshops for this year’s Social Justice Summit. The workshops will be divided into either:
Education/Knowledge Share workshops, where we will work together to identify and educate ourselves about important issues that are affecting our communities and what we can do to bring about change.
Art Activism/Skill Share workshops where Artist/Activist will share and teach us their skills to provide us with powerful tools that we can use to spread awareness and encourage social change.
Workshops are 1.5 hours in length and are a lecture or discussion pertaining to the theme of the Summit. Here are ideas/guidelines for workshop proposals:
Workshops are 3 hours or 1.5 hours in length and go beyond discussion by sharing skills and techniques involved in direct action. Here are ideas/guidelines for workshop proposal:
Make sure your workshop title catches the audiences’ attention. Please fill out the Proposal form and submit online or send a hard copy to the MCC—1 Harpst Street, Arcata, CA 95521. Deadline for workshop proposals is Friday, February 5, 2016 at 5:00 PM. Acceptance notifications will be sent out via email by Friday, February 12, 2016.
