Katie coordinates the campus STARS report, produces outreach materials, advises students, and helps identify areas for expansion of sustainability efforts at HSU. She holds an M.A. with a concentration in Environment & Community from Humboldt State University, in addition to a B.A. in Geography from UC Berkeley. Beyond her time in academia, Katie has devoted her career to establishing, organizing, and maintaining inclusive, just and sustainable communities through her work in the food, energy, education, and creative sectors. In the past, she has worked on projects with the Redwood Coast Energy Authority, Portland Farmer's Market, the Napa Valley Film Festival, and Making Waves Education Program, among others.

Morgan manages the recycling program, advises students, and facilitates the infusion of sustainability in campus operations and academics. Morgan holds a Master of Social Science in Environment and Community from Humboldt State University and a B.A. in Biology from the University of California Santa Cruz. He is a certified Building Analyst and Building Envelope Professional and has worked as an energy auditor and trainer, sustainability curriculum developer, and Peace Corps Nepal volunteer.

TallChief Comet (TC) currently serves as Director of the Office of Sustainability after serving as the campus Sustainability Coordinator for five years. TallChief has over 26 years of experience working in the environmental and natural resources fields, ranging from a field biologist in Alaska with the PNW Research Station to an Environmental Programs Director for a tribal government. In addition to his duties as Office Director TC is or has been the advisor for several student programs and clubs on campus including CCAT and Power Save Green Campus, a volunteer faculty member in the College of Natural Resources and Sciences, and is a leader or member of several campus committees. TallChief is also an HSU alum (89’, Wildlife), married to Kimberly since 1984 (also an HSU alum, 86’), and proud father of Sabra, who is attending Portland State University as a graduate student in the Masters in Environmental Management program. He continues to conduct nearly weekly raptor surveys in the Arcata bottoms with his longtime friend Jeff Dunk (lecturer, ESM) and has lived in McKinleyville since returning to the north coast in 1997.
