TRIO Talent Search works with students on College & Career Preparation, Financial Aid, and Study Skills.
A core piece of our curriculum is Senior Advising, where advisors work closely with high school seniors on college, financial aid, and scholarship applications, and help them with the transition from high school to higher education. We encourage our students to pursue all post-high school paths, including 4-year university, 2-year college, and career and technical education programs. Finally, summertime provides opportunities to bring TRiO Talent Search students to Cal Poly Humboldt and CR campuses for summer day camps.

Getting ready for college can be a daunting task. Follow the link below to our online course which covers many of the resources you will need to get prepared. This course uses the online system many college classes use. So, as you prepare, you will also be aclimating yourself with the online environment used for coursework.

Career Exploration
Our career exploration section encourages you to reflect on your interests, passions, and skills. We also have links to career assessments for career options and online games to explore future careers.
Financial Aid
Our financial aid section reviews the four main types of financial aid offered in college. We also explain the two financial aid applications available to students in California, the FAFSA and the CA Dream Act. Last but not least we’ve compiled our favorite scholarship resources, both local and national.
Study Skills
Our study skills section offers resources for content specific support, as well as more general time management tips and tricks. We also have a few resources for fun ways to study.
College Preparation
Our college preparation section explores the four main college systems in California, along with options out of state and career and technical options. We also offer information about the SAT and ACT, exams that are typically required for entrance into a 4-year university.
