Rae Robison comes to Humboldt State University after an extensive professional career in film, television, theme park, and stage design in Los Angeles, in addition to five years of teaching in higher education. Working as both a professional designer, director, and actor, Ms. Robison has been a part of over 150 stage productions in the United States and Europe, seven feature films, and several television pilots. Currently Ms. Robison is directing the production of In Conclusive Woman for the Kansas City Fringe Festival and the Red Hen Theatre, associated with Carnegie Mellon University, as well as costume designing Hamlet and Twelfth Night for Shakespeare Orange County in Anaheim, California. Recent onstage performances include the roles of Mother Superior in Nunsense and Penny in You Can't Take it With You for Central Missouri Repertory. Previous professional roles in Europe include Velma Kelly in Chicago, Guenevere in Camelot and Bunny in The House of Blue Leaves. Two of Robison's film shorts have gone to the Sundance Film Festival, the feature film Closing the Deal received awards at the Toronto Film Festival, and her costume work with Walt Disney's Imagineering can be seen at EuroDisney in Paris and Disneyland Tokyo. As an active member of U.S.I.T.T., Robison continues to work with theatre technology and expanded teaching in computer applications and through her design work.

Theatrical Design:
Recent design work includes the costume designs for the 2006 Shakespeare Orange County summer season, The Crucible and Anton in Show Business at Central Missouri State University, and scenic design for The Good Doctor at the Heartland Theatre in Clinton, Missouri. Robison has also received numerous Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival recognitions for her work on seven mainstage productions at Central Missouri State University and served as the Region V Costume Parade Director for the past two years. In Los Angeles she was noted for outstanding costume design by the Los Angeles Times, LA Weekly, and the L.A. Theatre Guild for her work on Harold and Maude and The Seagull at the Will Geer Theatricum, Measure 4 Measure at the Open Fist Theatre, and King Lear at the Pasadena Shakespeare Company.

Ms. Robison is excited at the opportunity to work at Humboldt State University and bringing her family to Arcata including, husband John-Michael, Humboldt freshman daughter Megan, teenage son Daniel, and one-year old center-of-the-universe son Dylan.
