Wildland Scholars must meet HSU admission requirements.
Applicants will be asked to provide two letters of recommendation from non-related references, preferably teachers/professors and/or work supervisors, addressing the candidate's: a) potential for scholarship and academic success; and b) their work ethic and personal character; applicants must also submit an original letter of interest for one of the three relevant disciplines (Forestry (five options), Rangeland Resources Science or Wildland Soil Science). Finalists will be invited to a phone interview before final selections are made in June, 2009. Applications will be evaluated by professors and a representative from HSU enrollment management. After acceptance of scholarship offers, successful applicants will convene at an initial orientation meeting in august 2009.
