Center Activities Staff

Dave Nakamura, Director
Dave manages the operations and development of Center Activities Programs including Outdoor Adventures, Aquatic Adventures, the Leisure program, the Student Recreation Center and the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center. Dave has over 20 years experience in the Recreation Administration profession.
 

Bridget Hand,  Manager
Bridget assists the Director in managing the operations and development of Center Activities Programs including Outdoor Adventures, Aquatic Adventures, the Leisure program, the Student Recreation Center and the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center. Additionally, she coordinates the collaborative departmental efforts within the Recreation & Wellness Center. 

Susan Hamblen, Office Coordinator
Susie provides administrative support to Center Activities' programs with clerical and record keeping duties to the various facility locations. In addition, she supervises the day-to day operations of the Center Activities reception staff. 

Carlton Wei, Student Recreation Center (SRC) Supervisor
Carlton supervises the SRC and SRC West. He oversees planning and coordination of staff, administration and management of facility and equipment maintenance. He directs the personal training and group fitness programs.

Deserie Donae, Adventure Program Supervisor
Deserie supervises the Outdoor and Aquatic programing for Center Activities and the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center. She develops programs, coordinates instructors, particpate relations and provides logistical support. She also directs the Summer Youth Aquatic and Adventure Camps.  

Marcella Ogata-Day, Outreach Coordinator
Marcella serves as the marketing liaison between Center Activities, its affiliates (the HSU Recreation and Wellness Center, Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center, Student Recreation Center, the Arcata Community Pool as contracted) and the surrounding community.
 

Allison Shrestha, Humboldt Bay Aquatic Operations Supervisor
Allison oversees the daily operation of the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center, including facility and aquatic rentals, event coordination, technical support, staff supervision and facility maintenance.



Thomas Oliver, Facility Coordinator
Thomas coordinates the daily operation of the facility including room rentals, event coordination, technical support, and facility maintenance.
