The Office of Research & Sponsored Programs is pleased to announce the 2019 CSU Student Research Competition. Students must submit a written summary of their research or creative presentations to the Office of Research by Friday, February 15, 2019.
Each week, students head to the Farm Stand on campus to pick free, fresh produce. It’s one of several services provided by HSU Oh SNAP! Student Food Programs.
The Humboldt County Homeless College Student Photovoice Project explored resiliency among local college students who experienced being homeless while attending college in Humboldt County. In collaboration with Dr. Pam Bowers from Social Work, 8 HSU students took photos and shared stories related to their experiences over the 2017-2018 academic year. The gallery event being hosted highlights these stories and photos with the primary goal to honor student experiences, highlight the challenges faced in our rural community related to housing, and seek solutions through action research.
The Humboldt County Office of Education (HCOE), in collaboration with Humboldt State University, the City of Arcata, the College of the Redwoods, and the Humboldt Area Foundation, is hosting an Equity Summit in Eureka on October 22nd-23rd for all community stakeholders committed to advancing equity in our region.

The College of Professional Studies is proud to welcome new students to Humboldt State University. On Thursday, August 16th, CPS introduced interested students to our College and Departments . The incoming freshmen had a pizza lunch and then the Dean spoke to students about the what the College wishes for all students and then students were introduced to the Department Chairs who later led students to in depth informational meetings about their departments.
