Conchitina Cruz: Lecture, Reading, & Author Conversation

Description:

National Book Award winner, scholar, author, and educator, Conchitina Cruz is a Filipina poet who teaches creative writing and comparative literature at the University of the Philippines in Diliman. Her book Dark Hours won the 2006 National Book Award for Poetry. Cruz will deliver an informal lecture entitled, The Filipino Author as Producer: Postcolonial Poetry, Positionality, and Politics. Followed by a reading and book signing. The event is free and open to the public, as part of the English Department's Visiting Writer Series.
