Your professor has assigned a research paper that requires you to cite peer-reviewed journal articles, but you aren’t sure what those are or where to begin looking for them. This workshop will introduce you to peer-reviewed journal articles and strategies for finding the information that you need.

You will learn:

+What a peer-reviewed journal article is
+Where to find articles in online databases
+Tips for conducting searches
+Utilizing filters to narrow/broaden your search results

On behalf of the search committee and Provost Alex Enyedi, you are invited to the Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Student Forums.

Reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’s primary focus is to promote an equitable and inclusive campus.

The Executive Director identifies issues related to campus culture and climate in an effort to enhance the educational
experience of students and establish an inclusive welcoming environment for culturally diverse students, staff, and faculty.
Student Forums will take place from 3:30pm – 4:00pm. Please plan to attend and meet the candidates.

How to Effect Change in Congress

Do you care about climate change, clean water, and environmental regulation? Want your voice to be heard?

Northcoast Environmental Center's Washington D.C. Legislative Analyst, Dan Sealy, will be conducting a teach-in to inform our community how to effectively reach out and stop bad legislation. This week we will focus on legislation being introduced in Congress that would gut the Endangered Species Act. Bring you laptops, tablets, and smart phones. Addition laptops will be available.

African Guitar Summit

With roots across the African continent, this star-studded collective unites the talents of six musicians to showcase a diversity of styles and fiery fretboard skills. The unique show features Guinea’s Alpha YaYa Diallo, Madagascar’s Donne Roberts and Madagascar Slim, and the heartbeat of drummer Kofi Ackah from Ghana. They are all backed by electric bass and ballafon played by Naby Camara from Guinea. The Summit is a high-energy collaboration that knows no borders—filled with musical stories, sparkling individual showcases, and inspiring collaborations.
