Students, Staff and Faculty may have had difficulty logging in
Opening a new browser window or restarting browsers or applications should allow the user to login.
At approximately 4AM one of the "consumer" ldap servers that provides authentication and authorization for several key services stopped responding. Because of the manner in which the ldap server stopped responding, the high availability load balancer continued to send requests to the inactive server, which resulted in the degraded service. The problems appear to have brought the "producer" or "master" ldap server down which is necessary to perform changes such as password changes. ITS is investigating.
Affected in what way:
Campus users may have had difficulties logging in to email, student center, CFS, and moodle. Users were not able to change passwords in account center.
