This project has been initiated by the Chancellor's Office and will upgrade the PeopleSoft HCM development environment (PeopleTools) in preparation for the split between PeopleSoft HR and PeopleSoft Student; for more details on this, see the portfolio entry for the Common HR System project. Some of the functionality in this upgrade will change how users interact with PeopleSoft HCM. The CO is setting campus schedules this summer. Work could begin as early as October 2013 and is expected to finish no later than March 2014.
Additional information is available on the Chancellor's Office project website
1/27/14: PeopleSoft HCM was successfully upgraded to PeopleTools 8.53 over the weekend of January 11-12. The After Action Review uncovered some areas for future consideration, including testing of fixes delivered by CASHNet, setting portal communications to unapproved until message is ready for release to campus, and creating a landing page for PeopleSoft that informs users the system is down for an upgrade.
11/22/13: The team has uncovered some minor issues during the first cycle of testing, which runs through the beginning of December. Our second cycle of testing will begin when Maintenance Pack 11.0 is released for PeopleTools 8.53 in mid-December.
10/31/13: Departmental testing, including Integration Broker testing between PeopleSoft HCM PeopleTools 8.53 and PeopleSoft CFS PeopleTools 8.48, has begun. The most obvious change for end users will be the new style sheet, codename Tangerine. The new style sheet will give pages a brighter, sleeker look with improvements to the appearance of the grids. Plans are under way to communicate information about this change to users across campus.
9/20/13: HSU has been assigned our desired Wave 1 selection, so the upgrade project will start 10/14/13 with a Move-to-Production target of January 10-11, 2014. The last Application Design & Development group PeopleTools Delta online training courses will be completed in early October.
7/29/13: HSU has responded to the CO's request for our scheduling preferences with the following dates:
The final schedule is due from the CO by 8/31/13.
In preparation for this upgrade, the Application Design & Development group will participate in a 2-day online training course in September on the differences between our current PeopleTools and the upgraded PeopleTools 8.5.3.
