Adobe Acrobat DC Upgrades Are Coming

September 12, 2017

Because of security issues with Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and earlier, ITS needs to upgrade all HSU-owned computers to the DC version (the latest iteration).

If you’ve already updated – great! If not you can do your own now if you wish, by going to the Software Center (for Windows users) or Self Service (for Mac users) and choose to install Acrobat DC. The installer will remove the old version and install the new one.

If you don’t want to do the update yourself, ITS will start pushing the update out to computers that are still running an older version on September 16 and will continue until everyone is running the latest version.

What’s different?

If you mainly use Acrobat to view files, you’ll see almost no difference; however, if you work with forms, you’ll see quite a bit of difference in the interface. If you’re interested in learning more about the new version or could use some help in navigating the updated interface, there are a couple of Skillport classes you can take:

If you have custom signatures for signing forms, you’ll need to have ITS reconfigure your signature after the update. For help with this or any other aspect of the new version, just call the technology help desk at x4357 or submit a ticket.
