HSU Admissions Office Update

September 11, 2017

I am pleased to announce changes in the Office of Admissions that will strengthen its collaboration with HSU’s Marketing & Communications Office to enhance HSU student recruitment efforts.

Stephanie Lane from the Alumni & Engagement Office has been appointed the Interim Director of Admissions, and will serve in the position for up to one year. Stephanie will be responsible for all outreach efforts, including supervision of the HSU admissions counselors.  Kristen Gould from Marketing & Communications has been appointed Interim Director of Creative Services & Outreach Communication, and will also serve in the role for up to one year. Kristen will be responsible for developing and building out new communications plans for prospective students, and for bringing greater cohesion to existing outreach materials. These appointments are effective immediately.

The twin goals of these changes are to boost enrollment for Fall 2018 and to enhance strategic efforts designed to recruit prospective students for the years beyond. I am confident that these changes will enhance the University’s recruitment efforts.

The changes will also complement our effort to develop a new strategic enrollment management (SEM) plan with the guidance of consultants from the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), facilitate the implementation of the new Cal State Apply student application system, and fill the AVP for Enrollment Management position and various vacancies in Admissions.

I want to express my appreciation to Stephanie and Kristen for taking on these roles. I also want to thank University Advancement, and the Marketing & Communications Office, for their assistance and flexibility in developing this arrangement.

Sincerely,
Alex Enyedi
Provost
