Natural History Museum Event ~ November 16

November 13, 2017
The HSU Natural History Museum is having a free lecture --  "Tree Rings and Redwoods" presented by HSU research associate, Allyson Carroll this Thursday evening, November 16th from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.  Allyson has her finger on the pulse when it comes coast redwoods and tree ring data. She recently created the first network of cross-dated tree-ring chronologies for coast redwood which opens up many new investigations regarding climatology and other fields of study. She current works with Dr. Sillett and Save the Redwoods League. Dendrochronology in general allows for investigations of trees and forests over time and space and has applications in archaeology, fire histories, and beyond. The museum is located at 1242 G St. in Arcata. Donations are appreciated. Please park on the street or across the street at Redwood Capital Bank, as parking is limited. For more information call 707-826-4480.
