The Humboldt State University Department of Social Work awards financial assistance to selected graduate students enrolled in the Distributed Learning MSW Program.
Selected applicants may be awarded up to $3,000. Funds are awarded in May and distributed in June. This assistance is open to all continuing Distributed Learning MSW students. Students may apply each year, but they are not guaranteed an award in a subsequent year based on a previous award.
In order to qualify for the award, you must be enrolled in the Distributed Learning MSW Program during the year of the award, you must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and you must write a short essay. Preference is given to students living in the “Superior Region” of California (Butte, Colusa, Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Lake, Lassen, Mendocino, Modoc, Nevada, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Tehama, Trinity), as well as those who have demonstrated commitment to the to the program of at least one academic semester.
**Students living in tribal and rural communities are particularly encouraged to apply.**
