Susan Bloom is joining the Department of Theatre, Film and Dance at HSU this Fall 2017 as an Assistant Professor. Bloom has worked for over 20 years on network TV shows, feature documentaries, small independent projects, and corporate media. Currently, she is cutting a feature documentary she shot in New Zealand about the movement to eradicate cats in the country with the highest per capita cat ownership in the world. The film, Goodbye to All Cats, looks at love, speciesism and humans’ ability to rationalize pretty much anything. She also works as a freelance editor on a wide range of projects. Bloom taught for 8 years at Brooks Institute of Photography in the Visual Journalism, Film Production, and Scientific and Technological Imaging programs. She has an MFA in Film Production from the University of Texas in Austin, and is an Avid Certified Instructor.
